the rose has always been a symbol of beauty, love and celebration all the way through the ages. Roman
nobles welcomed their guests with rose garlands and washed their feet with rose water. It is said that Cleopatra, the legendary Queen of Egypt, presented a sea of rose petals to a roman noble.
